What is an Agent Class, and why is it important?

An Agent Class is a way to group agents based on their performance and activity. Not all agents work the same—some generate many bookings, some a few, and some may not generate any at all. Treating all agents the same can create inefficiencies, unfair treatment, and mistakes in pricing or commissions.

By assigning agents to a class, you can:

  • Apply discounts or markup to the entire class at once, instead of setting them individually for each agent.

  • Manage agent performance more effectively by tracking each class.

  • Ensure fair and consistent treatment for all agents in the same category.

Example:
Imagine a DSA has 10 agents, and you create a class called High Performers for agents who generate the most bookings. Five agents belong to this class. Instead of going to each agent separately to set discounts or markup, you simply set the discount or markup for the High Performers class. All 5 agents automatically receive the discount or markup.

This method:

  • Saves time by eliminating the need to adjust each agent individually.

  • Maintains consistency so all agents in the same class follow the same rules.

  • Simplifies management when dealing with many agents at once.

Using Agent Classes ensures that rules for discounts, markup, and commissions are applied efficiently, fairly, and consistently, making agent management much easier and more organized.
